After an early breakfast move for immigration formalities after done with immigration transfer to Thimphu, on arrival check-into the hotel. The capital town of Bhutan and the center of government, religion and commerce, Thimphu is a unique city with unusual mixture of modern development alongside ancient traditions. With the population of about 90,000 it is perhaps still the world’s only capital city without a traffic light. Then visit Buddha Point (Kuensel Phodrang) Located at a short drive from Thimphu City Centre, visitors can get a good overview of the Thimphu valley from the Buddha point (Kuensel Phodrang). You can pay your obeisance and offer prayers to the Buddha, the largest statue in the country and then walk around and take a glimpse of the valley. Also take a walk to the Coronation Park. Located on the banks of the river (near the city stadium), this 5.6 acres of parkland offer a pleasant and relaxing environment to stroll or to sit and watch the river flow by. Evening time can be spent strolling through the government-run Handicrafts Emporium and local crafts bazaar, to browse through example of Bhutan’s fine traditional arts. Here you can buy hand-woven textiles, thangkha paintings, masks, ceramics, slate and wood carvings, jewelry, interesting items made from local materials. Overnight at the hotel in Thimphu. After breakfast visit; The National Library, King’s Memorial Chorten, Takin Preserve Motithang, The Folk Heritage Museum, The Jungshi Paper Factory, Buddha Point. On Way visit : Dochula Pass. The Dochula Pass is a mountain pass in the snow covered Himalayas within Bhutan on the road from Thimpu to Punakha where 108 memorial chortens or stupas known as Druk Wangyal Chortens have been built by Ashi Dorji Wangmo Wangchuk, the eldest Queen Mother. Apart from the chortens there is a monastery called the Druk Wangyal Lhakhang (temple), built in honour of the fourth Druk Gyalpo (head of the state of Bhutan), Jigme Singye Wangchuck; the open grounds in its front yard is a venue for the annual Dochula Druk Wangyel Festival. The pass with 108 memorial chortens is adjacent to the country’s first Royal Botanical Park. Later visit :- Chimi Lhakhang The Chimi Lhakhang, situated on a hillock in the centre of the valley, is also known as the temple of fertility. It is widely believed that couples who do not have children and wanting one, if they pray at this temple, they are usually blessed with a child very soon. A walk through the village near the temple will give you rare glimpses into the daily life and lifestyle of the villagers. Punakha Dzong It was built in 1637 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, at the junction of the Phochu and Mochu rivers. This majestic dzong served as both the religious and the administrative center of Bhutan in the past. It measures some 600 by 240 feet and has a six-story, gold-domed tower. Inside are courtyards and religious statuary that hint at the depth of history and spiritual tradition embodied here. Punakha Suspension Bridge Overnight at the hotel in Punakha (Altitude 1,300m)
After breakfast, Phobjikha is a wide glacial valley with a central stream meandering through the open grassland and thickets of dwarf bamboo. Farmlands occupy the peripheral slopes where potatoes and turnips are grown. The forests beyond the farms are mostly coniferous. The general vegetation is composed of mainly blue pine, birch, maple and several species of rhododendrons. The Central Valley inhabited by the cranes in winter has mostly dwarf bamboo. The repeated grazing of the bamboos by the local cattle and horses in summer prepares the ground for the wintering cranes. The magnificent Black-necked Cranes heighten the breathtaking scenery of Phobjikha in winter. You can also visit Gangtey Gompha. Evening return back. Overnight stay at Punakha..
After breakfast, Drive from Punakha to Paro (approx 127 km) The journey might take 3.30 hrs.After reaching check in to the Hotel/Resort . Later Sightseeing: Ta Dzong (National Museum) Ta-Dzong, an ancient watchtower, which now houses the National Museum. It is located about five and a half kilometers away from the main town of Paro and 500 feet from the Rinpung Dzong located below the museum. Cameras are not allowed inside the museum, but you can photograph the ta dzong and surrounding grounds. Rinpung Dzhong (Paro Dzong) The construction of the Rinpung Dzhong (Paro Dzong) began in 1644 on the order of Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal, the unifier of modern-day Bhutan. Unlike most of the other dzongs in Bhutan, it survived the massive 1897 earthquake though it was damaged by fire in 1906. Paro Dzong’s full name is Rinpung Dzong, which means ‘the fortress of the heap of jewels’. The approach toward the Dzong is through a traditional covered bridge called the Nemi Zam. A paved stone path runs alongside the imposing outer walls of the structure. The valley’s annual springtime religious festival called the Paro Tsechu is organized each year in the courtyard of the dzong and is attended by tourists from all over the world. After breakfast, Excursion to Chele-La-Pass The 35km drive to cheli la makes an interesting road excursion and is an excellent jumping-off point for day walks. Chele la separates Haa and Paro valley and at 3810m, it is one of the highest motor able pass in Bhutan. The drive till here from either Paro or Haa is through dense spruce and larch forests according to the seasons. On a clear day, there are spectacular views of Mt. Jumolhari, Jichu Drake and adjoining peaks to the North West, as well as the view of Haa and Paro valley. Evening free for leisure. Overnight at the hotel in Paro. (Altitude 2,280m)
After Breakfast visit, Kyichu Lhakhang Drukgyel Dzong Druk choeding Ugyen Pelri Palace Then drive to Phuentsholing. Evening an exploratory walk around Main Street and market area. Overnight at the hotel in Phuentsholing
