About BADRINATH TEMPLE

The temple is devoted to Lord Vishnu, who is loved in this sanctuary as Sri Badrinath. As indicated by legends, the Badrinath sanctuary goes back to the Vedic age. Notwithstanding, the present sanctuary is accepted to have been set up by holy person logician Adi Shankaracharya in eighth century.
Adi Shankara found a Saligram icon of Lord Badrinarayan which lay drenched in the River Alakananda. He introduced this symbol in a give in close-by Tapt Kund. It was later moved to the present sanctuary by the King of Garhwal in the sixteenth century.
The sanctuary stands tall at a tallness of 50 feet, has a beautiful principle entrance otherwise called the Singhdwar. The sanctuary has three segments; Garbhagriha, Darshan Mandap, and Sabha Mandap. The icons of Lord Badrinarayan, alongside different Gods are arranged in the Garbhagriha. The statue of Lord Badrinarayan is around 3.3 feet tall and is made of dark stone Saligram stone. The picture is accepted to have Vishnu in a double type of Nara and Narayan.
