About Ko Samui
Ko Samui, Kra Isthmus, is an island from the eastern coast of Thailand. Geographically in the Chumphon archipelago, this Surat is part of the Thani province, however, by 2012, Kau Samui was given the status of the municipality, and thus it is now locally self-governing. Ko Samui is Thailand's second largest island after Phuket, which is 228.7 km2, whose population is more than 63,000 and the number of people staying in the hotel is 73% because the number of visitors continues to increase. Exotic tourist resources, sandal beaches, coral gates and coconut trees are present on the island.
This island, inhabited by the Malay Peninsula and fishermen of Southern China, was probably settled approximately 15 centuries ago. It appears in 1687 on the Chinese map by the name of Pulo Cornam. The origin of the Samui name is unknown. It can come from the Sanskrit-Tamil word. Which means 'sea season' or it can be obtained in the name of a tree locally known in southern Thailand. A third possibility is that it originated from the initial Hanani traders to Samui.
