Saputara

A picturesque hill station located 1000 meters above the sea level, Saputara, literally meaning 'Abode of Serpents', is located in the forest region of Dangs of Sahyadri Ranges. The weather of this hill station remains cool throughout the year. As per Hindu Mythology, Lord Ram spent his 11 years of exile in the dense forests of Saputara. There is a deity of a serpent placed on the banks of River Sarpaganga. Local tribal people worship serpent god and celebrate festivals such as Nag Panchami and Maha Shiatri. Other famous places to be visit in Saputara are Pandava Caves, Saputara Lake, Echo Point and Sunset Point.
