About St. Stephens Church
St. Stephen's Church goes back to the nineteenth century. Stephen Rumbold Lushington, who was the past Governor of Madras established the framework stone of the congregation. Today, St. Stephen's Church is a standout amongst the most mainstream attractions of Ooty. The congregation is outstanding for its excellent Gothic look that gives it a one of a kind Victorian feel.
The congregation has a delightful painting that portrays the Last Supper which is the primary fascination of the congregation. The congregation likewise includes recolored glass windows which grandstand diverse scenes like the execution of Christ and Mary holding child Jesus in her arms.
The recolored glass windows charm individuals from all over the world. The woodwork of the congregation is terrific and it is said that huge wooden pillars were utilized to develop the congregation that originated from Tipu Sultan's Palace in Mysore.
